Springfield Armory Announces the 911 9mm
GENESEO, ILL. (01/22/19) – When you choose to carry concealed, you need a pistol that’s going to seamlessly blend into your daily routine without unnecessary size, weight or inconvenience. Our newest pistol for 2019, the 911 9mm brings you all of the ease and intuitive features that your EDC should have. Unobtrusive, accurate and reliable, and now available in 9mm as a discreet carry and formidable defensive tool.
The 911 platform provides superior handling characteristics that are unique among small pistols in its category. The 911 9mm gives shooters the convenience of a small frame with the familiar feel of a 1911.
A crisp, short-reset trigger featuring a G10 trigger shoe by Hogue® provides a clean, consistent trigger pull. The 911 9mm also has a loaded chamber indicator that allows the shooter to both see and feel if the pistol is loaded, for peace of mind during concealed carry.
An oversized ambidextrous safety provides quick and effortless operation in adrenaline-fueled defensive encounters, when fine motor skills may not be reliable. Designed for life-saving use at close range, the 911 9mm features an Ameriglo® Pro-Glo™ green tritium front sight inside a yellow luminescent circle, and a tactical rack U-notch rear sight with green tritium inside of white luminescent circles. The low-profile design of these sights ensures a snag-free draw when milliseconds count.
The frame measures 5.9 inches long, less then 4 inches high and features Springfield’s Octo-Grip™ texturing on the mainspring housing and front strap to ensure a secure grip, wet or dry. As an additional upgrade, the thin-line grips and mainspring housing on the 911 9mm are made of G10 by Hogue®.
The 3-inch precision broached barrel gives this small gun solid accuracy at ranges beyond expectation for a pistol of its size. A full-length guide rod and flat-wire spring enhance control and soften recoil. The flush 6+1 and 7+1 extended magazine provide the necessary capacity for confidence when carrying concealed. With a 7075 T6 anodized aluminum frame and 416 Stainless Steel slide, the 911 9mm is available with either a Black Nitride or Stainless finish to suit your preferences.
Two configurations of the 911 9mm are also offered with integrated green laser Viridian® grips, making target acquisition quick and effortless. An additional Black Nitride model is offered with Hogue® rubber grips.
Designed around the most popular defense caliber in the world, the 911 9mm keeps true to 1911 ergonomics in an incredibly compact design.
